During Kelly Osbourne‘s co-hosting stint on The View Tuesday morning Kelly referenced Donald Trump‘s infamous Mexican immigrants are “rapists” comment, she asked “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”

After an awkward silence Michelle Collins jumped in and tried to explain what Kelly actually meant while Rosie Perez (who is of Latin descent) challenged Kelly’s comment — “There’s more jobs than that in the country for Latinos, and Latinos are not the only people who clean toilets.”
“Oh, I didn’t mean it like that, come on,” Kelly clarified. “No, I would never mean it like that.”
Of course, soon after Kelly started receiving backlash. The 30-year-old quickly posted an apology statement to Facebook:
I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-hearted f**ked up today. I don’t want to bulls**t anyone with lame excuses. Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own f**king toilets.
In February when Kelly’s Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic made a racist comment about Zendaya‘s look at the Academy Awards Kelly was one of the first people to call her out. She publicly shamed Giuliana and eventually quit the show “in protest.” Isn’t that ironic..
