Sony and Marvel Hired a Guy You've Never Heard of To Play The New Spider-Man

This could be the best decision Marvel has ever made or the worst....
Tom Holland

Marvel and Sony announced today that Tom Holland, a 19-year old British actor, will be taking on the role of Peter Parker in their Spider-Man reboot — due out in 2017. Tom is going to take over the role for Andrew Garfield, also British, who took over for the original Spider-Man Tobey Maguire.

But who exactly is Tom Holland?

1. He’s a star in his own right. At 16 he shared the screen with Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in The Impossible.

2. He starring in a movie with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) later this year.

3. He can do cool flips and stunts without wires (this could be why he was hired).

Despite just being cast fans seem to like him more than they liked Tobey and Andrew, which is good news for Marvel.

My name is Lizzette, but feel free to call me Lizz. I binge watch TV shows I've already seen, I'm constantly quoting movies, and most importantly I love pop culture.
