From the minds that brought us 30 Rock (Tina Fey and Robert Carlock), comes Netflix’s new series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The series is all about Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) who decides to live in New York City after being discovered in an underground bunker for the last fifteen years.
Kimmy has been living with several other cult members in the underground bunker. The women, who dress like the wives from Big Love, have been taught to think they are survivors of an apocalypse. When Kimmy discovers that her previous life was a lie, she vows to live it to the fullest. She moves into a small room of a shared apartment, which she finds to be quite roomy after her last living situation.
In all, Kimmy just wants to do normal things, like have candy for dinner! She gets a job working for a mother played by the brilliant Jane Krakowski, while attempting to catch up on how the world has changed the past fifteen years. Some of her discoveries include the realization that “dancing is about butts now!” Not to mention, trying to figure out why she is so afraid of Velcro! Along with her new roommate (Tituss Burgess), it looks like Kimmy is in for quite the adventures.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, undoubtedly looks like another winner for Netflix. The network has made it’s mark these last couple years with great programming like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. The show premieres March 6th on Netflix.
