Channing Tatum Hated Being In ‘G.I. Joe’

Channing Tatum disliked ‘G.I. Joe’ as much as you do....

Struggling actors often have to take roles they may not love because of the money ($$$). For Magic Mike star Channing Tatum that movie was G.I. Joe.

Back when he was trying to make a name for himself Channing signed a three-picture deal with Paramount to star in G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra, something he now regrets. In an interview with Howard Stern (listen to it above), he opened up about the role:

“Look, I’ll be honest. I f*cking hate that movie. I hate that movie. I was pushed into doing that movie. (After) Coach Carter, they signed me for a three-picture deal …  And as a young (actor), you’re like, ‘Oh my god, that sounds amazing, I’m doing that!’”

Channing also said, “the script wasn’t any good,” but he had to make the movie because he signed a contract.

In the end it all worked out for Channing. Instead of selling his artistic soul for money, now he’s selling his body in Magic Mike XXL, which hits theaters July 1, for money.

My name is Lizzette, but feel free to call me Lizz. I binge watch TV shows I've already seen, I'm constantly quoting movies, and most importantly I love pop culture.
