It seems like Saturday Night Live has been in a “rebuilding year” for more than a few seasons. Since they started losing featured players (Jimmy Fallon, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Jason Sudeikis, Seth Meyers the list goes on…) SNL has been adding (and firing) cast members left and right, but for the first time in years the entire cast from last season is returning. With the addition of a new featured player, Jon Rudnitsky. But who exactly is Jon Rudnitsky?

Here’s what we know SNL’s newest cast member:

1. He grew up in Harrington Park, New Jersey.

2. The 25-year-old got his start doing open mics at The Comic Strip in New York City.

3. He graduated from the University of Southern California’s BFA Acting Conservatory program.

4. In 2012, Rudnitsky won the Laugh Factory’s Laugh Bowl college comedy competition.

5. His TV debut was on CBS’s Criminal Minds.

Another thing we know is that his Matthew McConaughey impression is pretty spot on:

Watch Jon and the rest of the cast at work when SNL returns October 3.

My name is Lizzette, but feel free to call me Lizz. I binge watch TV shows I've already seen, I'm constantly quoting movies, and most importantly I love pop culture.
