If you are a fan of Nicholas Sparks you know Sparks has three things in every novel. One; they’re set in North Carolina. Two; the main characters fall in love then split because of some unforeseen “conflict”. And three; someone always dies. I have not read The Best Of Me so I cannot confirm nor deny that any of these happen in this film, but I do know that it will make you cry. They always do.
The Best Of Me is set in 1984 Amanda and Dawson fall truly, madly, deeply, foolishly, completely in love with each other. But of course (OF COURSE) they are from opposite walks of life and are pulled apart due to terrible circumstances. They are reunited two decades later and the romance begins! Liana Liberato and Luke Bracey star as young Amanda and Dawson. Michelle Monaghan and James Marsden also star as older Amanda and Dawson.
Remind you of another Nicholas Sparks movie? COUGH, COUGH THE NOTEBOOK.
